Just picked up Assassins Creed, and I haven't finished it yet so this wont be a terribly long post. The only thing that I am going to write about this game right now is that this game is very very good. Pay no attention to those reviews that gave it a low to mediocre score. The game is actually fairly long if you play through it to get eveything done, and there are benefits to doing everything within each city. Pick it up and enjoy!
